Hugh J. Atkinson, CLU
President, Owner
Hugh Atkinson is a graduate of Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. After earning his degree, he started his career in 1975 with Equitable Life Assurance Company. In 1980, he became Director of Employee Benefits for Frank E. Neal Company before starting Atkinson Company, Inc. in 1984.
Hugh’s 48+ years in the insurance industry have provided him with valuable perspective and insight into helping people protect, preserve and grow what is important to them.
Hugh is a past president of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (Nashville Chapter) and past president of the Hendersonville Rotary Club. He has served on boards of Sumner County YMCA, Hendersonville Medical Center, Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce and Hendersonville Samaritan Association. Hugh was a member of the 2003 Leadership Nashville class. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
He resides in Hendersonville with his wife, Kathy. They enjoy traveling, golf, and playing with their granddaughter.
Nicole Madison
VP of Account Management
With over 20+ years of experience in the health benefits and human resource industry, Nicole’s skills are best presented in customer service and guidance on benefit programs. She assists our clients in ensuring they receive the most cost effective and competitive benefit structures available.
Nicole resides in Hendersonville with her husband John. She loves spending time with her two children and family. She also enjoys spending time on the lake, traveling and cooking.
Tyler Atkinson
Sales & Service Specialist
Tyler Atkinson is a graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, AL. After completing college and moving back to Nashville, Tyler received his M.B.A. in Corporate Leadership with a focus in Human Resources from Lipscomb University. While obtaining his M.B.A. he began working at Nashville-based executive search firm, J.R. Adams & Associates, in 2008.
As Director of Search Operations Tyler oversaw all aspects of retained executive searches from Fortune 500 companies to smaller, independent organizations. Tyler’s expertise was in Board of Director and C-Suite positions, as well as consulting on human resources matters. This included strategizing hiring practices, as well as developing benefits and compensation models for executives.
In 2017, Tyler joined his father at Atkinson Company, bringing a fresh approach to benefits administration and financial services. Tyler lives in Gallatin, TN with his daughter Lauren. He is active in his church and enjoys travelling.
